My family and I will
be returning to Beauview Cottage Resort this
summer for our 12th year. We love this
beautiful part of the world and we love the
care and attention to detail that our hosts,
Gord and Nancy, give to every visit. I can
honestly say that their efforts to make
their guests comfortable is above and beyond
anything we have experienced anywhere else
in our travels. From the home-made jam
waiting for us when we arrive and the rubber
ducks for each hot-tub, to the remote
internet access and long list of water craft
and movies to borrow, your every wish is
accommodated. I highly recommend this lovely
vacation spot.

We absolutely loved our stay at Beauview!! It was a little piece of
paradise. Very peaceful environment with nature's beauty all around to enjoy.
The cottage itself was very well maintained and has a welcoming warm charm. We
especially enjoyed cozying up to the fireplace at night and relaxing in the "hot
tub in the snow". The snowmobile trails were a blast and we will be reminiscing
our stay until the next time we come here. Thank you so much for your
hospitality including the extra treasures we found upon arrival - Yummies in a
Jar jam, wonderful scented soaps, and a bottle of wine - a definite bonus.
Thanks again, Chad and Stacy

My husband and I came to Beauview Resort with our six month old daughter, for a
relaxing getaway. We have had an amazing time. The cottage is warm and cozy and
had absolutely everything we needed. The hot tub was an amazing way to
relax, and we used it all three nights we were here. Our little getaway
was absolutely perfect, and we would love to come again.

Great View, hot tub, clean and well kept cottages. We saw 18 deer on New Years
Eve and 22 on New Years Day. Went to Algonquin Park and saw a female moose.
Pleasure to meet you both and we'll be back. The Hunters, Hamilton,

It was peaceful and private. Excellent time. Very relaxing. Excellent
hospitality and great accommodations. View was fantastic from cottage #3. Thanks
for all. Will be back.

Sheer serenity! cleanliness, comfort, quiet! Great Hospitality. Like home away
from home. We missed the deer visit to our cottage, but Gord took pictures
for us - so I guess we really didn't miss it. - no complaints or "wish we hads".

We spent our honeymoon here and we had a great time. After all the stress
leading up to the wedding, a few relaxing days was exactly what we needed. We
went to the Dorset Lookout tower, which is beautiful this time of year. My
husband climbed the tower while I kept my feet on the ground. The next day we
did some hiking in Algonquin Park, what a great time of year to do that! Every
night we would sit in the hot tub to relax, one of the highlights of the trip.
Thank you for such a wonderful relaxing honeymoon. We will be telling all our
friends and family about the great time we had. We hope to see you next year.

Dear Nancy and Gord,
We searched the internet for a cottage and found your Beauview site.
Congratulations on an excellent website.
1One bedroom cottage #2 exceeded our expectations. It is clean, bright and very
comfortable. The hot tub is a delight.
You are both ideally suited to own and run an establishment like this. The
Welcome Hot Dog BBQ on Sunday was a great way to meet our hosts and neighbours.
Thanks for the wine, jam and soaps.
We took the Lake of Bays Boat Tour and we would recommend it. We are familiar
with the area as we camped in Arrowhead and Algonquin Parks.
We will definitely be back again.
R, M, London, Ontario
Our one week stay was fantastic. We have stayed in many cottages in Central
Ontario and weren't sure what to expect. I've never understood the rating system
for hotels, but I do now. We showed up with salt & pepper, coffee filters, dish
soap and were able to bring this all home. All the basics were there - turnkey.
The property is in a quiet bay on Lake Of Bays with a only a few other private
cottages. The grounds and cottages are all well maintained and very clean. The
hot tubs were fantastic.
The hosts were thorough in explaining how everything in the cottage worked (A/C,
gas stove, satellite) and then left you on your own with an open-door policy.
This gave us the privacy we seeked.
Many personal touches such as wine, jam and soap were awaiting our arrival.
All the basic activities were available at no charge (canoes, kayaks etc.) and
waterskiing and tubing for an additional charge, but only on particular days
(plan in advance). If you want to rent a boat, you must seek out a third party
(Baysville Marina is 8km away).
We utilized the Algonquin park pass for 4 days, it was an incentive to get us
mobile.
We are a young couple who liked to have some of the comforts of home. You
wouldn't think you'd want wireless internet on vacation, but it was great to
find directions, check cinema schedules, check LCBO closing times, and send the
occasional picture back to the folks at the office :-)

Hi Gord and Nancy
Thank you for an
excellent stay at Beauview. The kids had a chance to do things that they
ordinarily don’t get the opportunity to do, like tubing, kayaking etc. They
loved the Bingo and crafts and water trampoline. All in all everything was
so much fun. P.C., Dundas, ON
The 3 bedroom cottage was great. Appliances etc. We liked the canoes,
kayaks, paddle boats, tubing and the updates for activities and weather.
My children really enjoyed the tubing and crafts. My husband thought
the kayaking was fun. Everything was great. We had a great week. LT

We liked how you thought of everything - from stocking the cottage, to
running activities for the children. MG, Oakville

chair, rubber duck, well equipped kitchen, hot tub! Very comfortable attractive
new cottage. We are happy to tell our friends about Beauview and hope to

Everything was very pleasant. Your kindness stood out over everything.
The cottages are full of the necessities and I had everything we needed due to
your home like environment. Above our expectations
February 2007
We liked the attention to details. The cleanliness is very much appreciated. The
friendly welcome makes us feel special.
October 2006
We liked the view, the cottage, the high chair and the DVDs. We found the
cottage very well equipped which, when you are travelling with a demanding 10
month old, is quite an achievement! M& H, London, England
We celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary with a stay at your beautiful place.
Here in Cottage # 5 On arrival, we learned that this was the same place
that Tom's family had stayed when he was a child - 47 years ago! It
brought back great memories. It was his first introduction to the Muskoka Area.
We were amazed at how well preserved the older cottages are. They have tradition
and charm. We were blessed with great weather. While soaking in the hot
tub, we gazed at the "Harvest Moon". We loved the little touches such as the
wine, soaps and jam. Our compliments on how well you've kept the place and
Thanks for a great weekend. Tom and Daina, Dundas, Ontario
September 2006
Nancy and Gord, We had a wonderful weekend which exceeded our
expectations! We were never lacking something to do and you gave us perfect
directions to all the local towns. The pass for Algonquin park was extremely
appreciated. The cottage was impeccably clean and included every amenity we
could imagine - we did not want to leave. We enjoy
travelling across Ontario, finding great places to stay - Beauview is one of
those places - we will certainly recommend to our friends and be back ourselves.
Thank you for everything! Maura and Shawn, Toronto, Ontario

Super Holiday "AWESOME!"
We have had a memorable week. All of the special family time together has been
priceless. Whether we were kayaking (some for the first time) roasting
marshmallows, jacuzzi, paddle boating, special moments and talks on the dock or
teaching our 4 year old to wish on his very first star. The memories of our
family here together will last and warm my heart for my lifetime.
Marge and Bill, Barrie, Ontario
The resort facilities were fantastic; hot tub, canoes, kayaks, pedal boats, BBQ,
Current movies and the pass for Algonquin Park. Gord and Nancy were most
attentive and nothing was too much trouble, yet we had lots of privacy.
The view of the lake was beautiful.
We feel that you don't sell yourself enough - if you've got it (and you have)
you should flaunt it!

We loved everything and are planning to return with our children.

Gord & Nancy:
We would like to thank you for the wonderful
weekend we spent at Beauview. The whole mini-vacation was terrific. The
reception we received upon arrival set the mood for everything to follow. Your
hospitality and attention to detail was a very pleasant bonus.
Sitting in the hot tub at 8:00 AM, with the sun
coming up over the trees, the smoke drifting across the lake, in -35 degree
temperature is not something soon forgotten. The only thing missing was the
morning cup of coffee (my fault, too lazy). Thanks again and we look forward to meeting
with you again.

December 2002
We had a wonderful weekend escaping the city! 6 city slickers stayed at
the cottage and were amazed to find a blanket of flaky white wet material called
snow falling from the heavens! Oh to play in the snow again. We
found ourselves transformed into little children, tobogganing down the family
hill, snowshoeing, and blazing our own trails through the woods and zipping down
the snow tubing hills not far from here. And as children of the winter, we
warmed ourselves up in this lovely cozy cottage drinking hot cocoa, playing
guitars and singing all dressed in our pajamas.
Thank you Gord and Family for helping us to discover winter outside Toronto and
our inner happy playful selves. Merry Christmas 2002 Alexi and

What can we say! We have never experienced such great hospitality!
At first we were very excited and nervous coming to Muskoka, since this was our
first trip up north and we had no idea what awaited us. You made us feel
at home and have gone out of your way to make our trip more pleasurable and
comfortable - seeing if we needed anything such as towels, snowshoes, hats,
mittens, etc. to giving us directions to even helping us "dig out" the
car after the snowstorm. You have certainly gone the "extra
mile". Beauview is quiet relaxing beautiful and unique. Thanks for a
wonderful 3 days!

Have thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay here in
wonderful Beauview. Our cottage is lovely and all the other "cottagers" we

Muskoka the Place to be for 25 years by
Mel Malton (from the Huntsville Forester Newspaper August 6, 1997)
Every summer when vacation time comes around, the Wedekindt family doesn't bother
looking at tourist brochures. They know where they are going - the same little
cottage on Lake of Bays they have been visiting for a quarter of a century.
Les and Sue Wedekindt, who live in North Tonawanda NY discovered Muskoka in 1972, in
particular a little resort called Beauview Cottages - unpretentious,
reasonable, set back on a quiet little bay.
"It's the best anticipation in the world" Les said adding that, at the end of
their stay, they always book for the year ahead, always the same cottage and, if they can,
during the same time of the summer.
Jennifer Wedekindt has celebrated 13 birthdays at Beauview. "I love it
here" she said. " We taught all the kids in the bay how to water-ski"
Les said. "The children have so many important memories tied up in this
place." "We tried Florida once but Muskoka is the place to be."
Next year around the beginning of August where will the Wedekindts most likely be
found? "Just guess" Les said.
